For the appointment in March, Engage Rotterdam hosts five researchers from the DESMA Network. DESMA is a European Research Network in the field of Design Management, that consist of 4 leading European Universities, 3 manufacturing companies, and 5 service consultancies. It’s mission is to engage academia and practice in rethinking how the combination of design + management can drive innovation, competitiveness and social progress in new ways.
The theme of the event is “Innovating in Transition”. The research fellows will share two distinct perspectives on the topic:
- Inside-out: How organisations innovate when a fundamental transition towards user or service centricity is required. Examples from Philips and Volvo.
- Outside-in: Barriers to innovation. How to support organizations to absorb, digest and implement. Examples from Politecnico di Milano and Future Concept Lab.
The keynotes will be followed by a panel discussion led by Veronica Bluguermann from Living Labs Global where the audience will be invited to actively contribute to the conversation.
